As a young woman, Carine Wang moved away from family in Singapore to attend Parsons School of Design (Project Runway). She had a rare natural talent for understanding not just the principles of great design but also how those designs should fit on a woman's body.
Carine's dreams were delayed with family and another business. After she sold that business, she made a decision to return her focus to the fashion business. She started working and learning from other stores and boutiques - mopping floors, selling, and taking any job possible in the industry. Finally, as the economy was starting to recover in 2002, a mall was willing to take a risk on Carine's dreams and she opened her first retail store.
Twenty years later, Carine has expanded to four stores in the Valley and one in Sedona. Her own Carine brand has exploded to be featured today in over 500 stores in the United States and Canada.
Carine's stores combine classic good taste with a contemporary look and feel. She is not only a designer but also an experienced international buyer of designer styles, and you can have confidence that she will work with you to coordinate and design your image. Carine is a skilled master tailor and seamstress who can personalize your wardrobe to perfection.
Carine is still working hard at continually making fashion accessible for all women. This past season she has designed over 120 styles. She understands that women's tastes are always unique, but every woman wants clothes that look good and are easy to take care of.
Carine has four stores in Scottsdale: in Old Town Scottsdale on 5th Avenue and Main Street, and further north at the popular SHOPS at Gainey Village and in North Scottsdale - at La Mirada on the corner of Pinnacle Peak and Pima. Her fifth store in Sedona opened in early 2022, and Carine looks forward to further expansion in the years to come.
